MBrace Construction is building green!
The buildings in which we live, work, and play protect us from nature's extremes, yet they also affect our health and environment in countless ways. As the environmental impact of buildings becomes more apparent, a new field called "green building" is gaining momentum. Green products inlude recycled carpet and pad, low voc paints, pourous concrete, metal framing members, solar panels or solar collector roofing shingles, natural insulations, LCD lighting, water saver plumbing fixtures, and energy star marked products.
Green, or sustainable, building is the practice of creating and using healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance and demolition. What is Green Building? Green building is the practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and deconstruction. Most of the products and materials we remove will be dropped off to a charity or recycling plant.
New for 2009! Tax benefits have been expanded and increased this year for new insulation, replacement windows, solar panels, appliances, new AC systems, etc., all products must have the energy star logo. Maximum credit is $1500. Let's save our planet for future generations!
